About Mithun Banerjee

Mithun Banerjee, a loving father, husband, and son, resides in Montgomery County, Maryland, with his wife and son. His wife is highly educated with an MBA and also possess a Graduate Degree in Economics. His father is a very successful Entrepreneur and holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree and Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and his mother has an impressive academic background with an MBA, M.A. in English, and a Diploma in Journalism.

Professional Background

With a distinguished career spanning Microsoft, Oracle, US Department of Veteran’s Affair, T-Mobile, Honeywell, and other renowned companies, Mr. Banerjee has successfully managed multi-million dollar projects as a Program/Project Manager. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Lamar University, Texas (2004) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication from Bangalore University, India (2001).

– Published 11 papers in IEEE International Conferences and Journals

– Served as a Review Panel Member for prestigious organizations like NSF, NASA, and DoD, National Science Board (NSB)

Vision for Montgomery County

As a resident close to two decades, Mr. Banerjee is committed to addressing community challenges. Once Elected as a County Executive, he aims to:

1) Provide Free Childcare by increasing Tax on Individuals Earning $1Million+ per year by working with State Legislators by enabling Legislation

2) Provide Free Universal Pre-K by increasing Tax on Business Profiting $1Million+ per year by working with State Legislators by enabling Legislation

3) Make Montgomery Community College Tuition Free for all Students

4) Any Full Time Service Employees & Educators from Montgomery County & MCPS should get no less than $60K & $80K per year with Healthcare & Pension Benefits

5) Any Part Time Service Employees & Educators from Montgomery County & MCPS should get no less than $30K & $40K per year with Healthcare Benefits

6) Once elected, I volunteer to take $120K as salary as County Executive instead of current salary ~232K & request all my fellow County & MCPS Employees to volunteer not to take more than $130K & all the savings will be used in MCPS Budget

7) Provide Affordable Housing by Public-Private Partnership & Address Housing Issue

8) Address Housing-Homeless Issue by providing Public Housing on No-Profit-No-Loss Basis

9) Freeze Property Taxes for Properties Worth <$1 Million & maintain a Balanced Budget

10) Reduce the Homestead Tax Credit Cap from 10% to 6% for all Residents

11) Provide Higher Homeowners Tax Credits to Seniors, Special Needs & Low Income Households & Provide Funding to Adult Protective Services & expand Services to Seniors

12) Provide Affordable Healthcare Assistance & Support Women Rights to Choose

13) Create Small Business-Friendly environment by cutting Red Tape for Business

14) Create Marketplace for Interested Small Businesses in Montgomery County Website by vetting process by County, include them in County Contracts by public bidding process & send email blasts to County Residents with their details

15) Modernize the Workforce by having Community Events on Regular Basis

16) Enforce all County Department & County Employees to publish their Direct Contact & respond to all Complaints from Residents within 24-48 hours timeframe

17) Provide Legal Support to Stop illegal Deportation without Due Process

18) Provide Free Metro Bus Passes to Students, Special Need & Low Income Household

19) Provide Free Toll Passes to Students, Special Need & Low Income Household

20) Provide Free Parking Passes to Students, Special Need & Low Income Household

21) Establish a State-of-the-Art University in Montgomery County, Maryland

22) Reduce Crime, allow Graduate Students to join as Police-Intern to fill Vacancy

23) Expose all Corruptions in the System(Government, Judicial, Election…etc)to make it Fair

His vision brings a fresh perspective & responsive governance for the County’s ~$7.2 Billion Budget & he is using Campaign Public Financing. With his industry experience & commitment to the community, he is well-equipped to lead forward.
